What Is Going On?

My heart is breaking with each new set of details that emerge from Blacksburg, VA. Now the reports are up to 31 dead. As a parent, knowing my children are in a classroom has always provided me with a feeling of security.

I am sending my prayers to the parents, children and family of those killed or injured.

This is dreadful.

It makes you weepy, scared - and it makes you want to hold your own kids so tightly in your arms.

So very very sad, tragic and horrific that someone could have so much rage and be so far removed to understand the loss of just one life; let alone 22...

I need to get on google....I haven't heard anything...but I can tell already, I am NOT going to like it! :(

Wow! I hadn't heard anything either, so I went to check it out- 33 dead. Why do these senseless tragedies keep happening?

I almost wish I didn't know. What a senseless tragedy!

Reminds me of what LSU felt when the serial killer was on the loose.

Poor kids....poor families!

OH I know. Absolutely horrible. I live in SE Virginia and it seems like everyone we know has a child at Va Tech. Thankfully, all are accounted for.

33 dead now & I'm sure it will be higher by morning. I just feel sick about it. Sick.

And now, saying "thanks for stopping by my blog" seems so shallow!

Now that I'm a parent, I no longer pass by stories like what happened today and just shake my head in disbelief. Now I get sad as I think about if my son was one of the people at that school. Then I get angry.

Things like this just make me realize that things in my life aren't nearly as bad I sometimes think they are. I just don't understand the senceless of it all.

I know... I have been watching the news all morning and it is just heartbreaking... and, as always, there are stories of such bravery that your are humbled...

This is what our culture is doing to our kids. I won't soapbox, but I do believe it to be the truth.

I cried, too.
