I Present Into Evidence Item #207...

as to my lack of domestic goddessness.

The hubs just brought the ironing board and iron up to press his shirt for our date tonight (don't get all excited, we're going to a wedding--you think he'd iron for me??).

Mr. 4: Dad? What's that?
Hubs: *steals a glance at me and chuckles*
Mr. 4: I mean what does it do?

Two minutes later...

Mr. 5: Dad? What's that?? What are you doing?

In my defense (and his), I did offer to iron the shirt for him but he wanted to do it himself. And honestly, I don't mind ironing. It's like vacuuming--you get immediate gratification for your efforts, but I don't have a place to leave my iron set up so we just don't do it much and neither of us are that partial to button down shirts--they're just not that comfortable.

UPDATE:
Hubs gave it a shot with limited success. He's decided to let me "take a stab" at eliminating the wrinkles. Gotta go. Off to make Fussy proud.

Eh, who needs an iron? We just spray our clothes with a little water and toss 'em in the dryer for a few minutes!

I haven't ironed anything in quite some time. The hubby is a far better iron-er than I am. I don't think my son would know what an Iron is either. heehee.

LOL I am with you on this one. It's Downey Wrinkle free is anything, here. I'm sure it's horrid for us, but OMG it works. Well, that and my post-drying flattening technique and buying only wrinkle free clothes from TravelSmith for the hubs.

Ugh... ironing.... I just throw a sweater over and forget the ironing... ;)

Here I shall list the things I'd rather do than ironing:

Anything.

I'm dangerous when I iron. I keep dropping it. It's as if it doesn't want to stay in my hand.

This is why I strive to only buy clothes made of wrinkle free materials. And hang them up quickly after the dryer. It's like it's either do the laundry promptly or iron. Ugh.

I recently asked the kids to fetch me the ironing board.

They looked at me with blank stares and asked what an ironing board was.

Ya, my momma would be proud.

If I need anything ironed, the husband does it for me. Oddly, it's one of the domestic activities he excels at - me, not so much.

Hubby calls the dryer the "iron".

Needless to say he does not pick up the actual iron.

I don't love it...but I do it if I must.

Ha. Fa called me out too when Hubs started sweeping...She wanted to know what he was doing...Gah.

You are a domestic Goddess! Iron? What's that? LOL

When we say "iron" we mean the one that that the dry-cleaner down the street owns.

I'm with Karly. I'd rather mop a floor than iron. I just spray on that Downy stuff and throw it in the dryer. Drying clothes with a wet washcloth also works.

It appears I have an absolutely boring wardrobe going on, but the truth is I'm just too lazy to iron all the good stuff.

I'm cutting out the middle man, just not buying anything that ever needs ironing.
