Freezing Rain and Fried Nerves

This is the reason I didn't get to vote yesterday.

This is the reason it took me two and half hours to go the first thee miles of my commute.

I left the office at 5:45 p.m. and arrived home at 10:15 p.m. I had ten miles to traverse.

I'm not strong with math, but I'm pretty sure that even after subtracting my one hour stop for peeing and food (what? there were no cups in the car) and the use of improper fractions, the rate of my progress was akin to Alice's courtship to Sam, the butcher.

I can't believe you even drove in that! Now I'm feeling like a super wimp for not wanting to drive on the snowy roads today.

DOH

You live in Springfield?

With 3 kids?

Hold on, is yer husband HOMER?

Yes, I'm a child.

And, yes, you should move to civilization (ie Los Angeles the only place worth living)

Sad, sad sad. What has our democracy come to when our citizens won't vote because of a wee little ice storm that shuts down the entire city and turns short commutes into hours-long ordeals? Sheesh.

That is absolutely ridiculous. I cannot even imagine what a drag that commute must have been. I would probably have done a lot of screaming in my car. You know, cursing the skies and whatnot.

I saw that on the national news!

Nasty. I bet you could have made it to my house (burb's of Detroit) faster!

I'm glad you made it safely.

Oh dear got! I suggest moving south. On Sunday, I sat out in the backyard with shorts and my tankini top.

it took Gabe three hours to get home too.

I saw that and cringed for you. And drank a shot in your honor.

Sheesh, you accomplished something rare with this post - you made me glad, briefly, I live in LA. Stay warm - and home!

Um, at least it's pretty? Yeah, I know - there's really no silver lining to that commute home.

This is why I love you! Nice little post and then [sneak] a Brady Bunch reference. You rock!

Did I know you were near DC? I am sure I did and I am a loser.

Either way, at least your ice photos sure are purdy.

But I am so sorry you didn't get a chance to vote. I know how you feel, I got shut out here in Denver a while back by overwhelming lines and I was soooo frustrated!

I'm glad you're safe. Ice storms are so dangerous.

Wow... I hate ice. And we get a lot too, but at least it's easier to drive with snow on top.

Glad you made it safe and sound.

Hello! This is my first visit over here and I like what I see. Until next time... :-)
